Vendor Spotlight: Walnut Run Farm

Meet Walnut Run Farm, a small, unique family farm and bakery located in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Besides raising pork and 100% grass-fed beef, Walnut Run operates a specialty bakery using organic ingredients and heritage grains. They hold high, uncompromised standards for specialty products, with a goal of producing the healthiest baked goods on the market while maintaining a memorable taste.

All Walnut Run's sourdough crackers are made exclusively with einkorn flour throughout the fermentation process. The sourdough is usually fed in three-hour intervals until the desired amount is reached, and then it sets overnight. The final mixing, including the other listed ingredients, is mixed the next morning, and then the crackers are rolled out on sheet pans. They’ll be left to ferment for another 2 to 3 hours before baking, depending on the temperature.

Ingredients are always carefully sourced. Butter comes from grass-fed cows, spices are either grown in our own gardens (especially basil) or sourced from reputable companies. The tomato juice for the Tomato Basil crackers is home-pressed and canned.
