Pasture-Raised Pork and Lamb

I’m a Pasture Pig

Speaking on behalf of my species, pigs belong in a pasture where we can explore the world. Although humans think we’re unmannerly, we are one of the cleanest animals around. Since we don’t sweat, we roll in the mud to cool ourselves off.

Pasture isn’t only good for us; we’re also good for the pasture. When we sniff and dig out food in the soil with our powerful noses, we aerate the soil and promote plant diversity. Seeds can take root and grow, and the result is a healthy ecosystem that benefits everybody.

Lambs are built to eat grass. A lamb’s diet includes solid food shortly after it’s born. 4-6 weeks later, it will be fully eating grass. At Green Acres, we also think that all lambs deserve a green pasture to frolic with their friends. Happy meat, healthy people–that’s what we care about.

Grass-fed lamb meat, compared to other red meats, boasts some of the highest levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and omega-3 fatty acids. These heart-friendly acids are believed to be helpful agents in your body’s fight against diseases like cancer and diabetes.
